Founded in 1924, the Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation is a leader in the manufacturing and marketing of portable electric power tools suitable for a variety of professional and home improvement applications. Early on, the company developed a number of portable electric tools – drills, sanders, polishers and grinders – all to the demanding specifications of the US Navy.

Perhaps Milwaukee Tool’s most renowned early effort was the design and development of a relatively lightweight and perfectly balanced sander and grinder that caught the eye of everyone in the welding profession. During World War II, Milwaukee was instrumental in the manufacture of airplanes and other war machinery vis-à-vis their small portable Hole-Shooter drill.

Today, Milwaukee is perhaps best known for their revolutionary Sawzall Reciprocating Saw line.
