Bostitch was originally formed in 1896 as the Boston Wire Stitcher Company after founder Thomas Briggs invented one of the first machines designed for stapling or stitching books, calendars, magazines, etc. Over the years, the company continued developing staplers and stitchers, pausing only during World War II to manufacture parts for the assembly of the Browning rifles used by American soldiers. In 1948, the Boston Wire Stitcher Company officially shortened its name to Bostitch. In 1986, Stanley acquired the Bostitch brand.
The construction tool lineup at Bostitch feaures a large selection of cordless framing nailers and staplers, pneumatic staplers, framing guns and finish nailers, as well as air compressors and combination kits. Since the company’s inception, Bostitch has maintained its position as a leader and innovator in the fastener and fastening tool market. |
